Apps Marketplace

How about a marketplace for companies to ticket their integration needs and experienced Integromat Geniuses to offer quotes to implement them?

Sounds good I like this Idea, just is importan to have a balance to the "Geniuses" so everybody has equal chances to send a Quote.

Jan Knettig I am not sure what the expected functionality will be in the future, however as a partner I'm not sure a contactform to the developer of that app suffices as "an Apps Marketplace". If I would put apps in a marketplace, my expectations would be that there is some sort of payment and usage mechanisme that give customers the option to buy access to the app. Also a review system would be nice so that clients can see what others think of the app. Is there any view on what functionality is in scope?
P.S. Clickup now often publishes a questionnaire on Canny before they put the idea in to "in progress" to get more clarity on the expectations of the users. My suggestion would be to copy this to make sure the feature request still is what is wat meant to be a year ago.

Arnoud Post: Thank you for your comment and questions. Yes, your points are completely relevant. That’s why we say the Apps Marketplace is in beta. We believe it’s already fulfilling the most important role of a marketplace - it allows the supplying side (Make partners) offer their apps and the demanding side (customers) acquire them. The content is the crucial part of every marketplace. If we had all the features but no content, there would be no value for customers and that’s our number one objective - to create value for our customers and partners.
It’s very likely we will be adding those features you are mentioning as this initiative grows. This place is exactly where we are very happy to collect feedback so thank you for that.

How do i as a partner submit apps to the marketplace?
Jan Knettig
Chaim: Thank you for that question, Chaim! It’s very easy and you can find more information on that in our documentation here: https://docs.integromat.com/apps/apps-marketplace/how-does-it-work#submission-process
I am sorry to respond this late to your question. Since yesterday this option is officially open to all Make partners with a signed agreement so now I can actually share it.
Hope to see some great apps from you soon!
Chaim
Jan Knettig: thanks Jan. I applied a few times to become a partner but haven’t gotten any response. Any advise?

We are working on this already and we just published a beta version of the Apps Marketplace! 🚀
Find the first 10 apps under "3rd Party Apps" category on our Apps & Services page: https://www.make.com/en/integrations
More to come very soon!
Let us know what you think and hope you’ll find there some new exciting apps for you.
Note that currently the opportunity to submit new apps to this marketplace is only open for official Make partners.

Or even Credits everytime someone uses your template

Marcus Quinn: Hello Marcus, Thanks a lot for suggesting this. We have been playing around with this idea for a while now and we would like to launch such a Marketplace by the end of this year.

Akash Paul: My pleasure. There's lots of advice from experience in my comments below to both make it a community value addition to the platform but equally not distract you from the most valuable connections creation with too much people management. Sincerely hope that helps. Happy to discuss further if I can help in any way with the discussion.

Great feature request, maybe charge for use or share some income Integromat get from Payed Users with the app creators

Heck, even if you gave me a credit of 1% of all of the operations and data used with the integrations and apps I've created, I'd make a whole bunch of them so that my scenarios would be cheaper.
If you build and support the platform, the platform becomes cheaper for you to use.
It's a positive feedback loop for the highest utilizers while simultaneously increasing the utility for everyone else.
Beyond that, app stores are what make apple and google unassailable in the mobile operating space.

A template marketplace with ability to offer free/premium templates would be amazing!

Michal Máša: Cool!
I'm thinking more along the lines of making Integromat a social application where you add Integromat Genius profiles to Templates they will work with linking to their Upwork or Gumroad profile for any paid services. Keep it simple!
Similar to your Notes you could add a Comments sidebar using Google Firebase similar to GDocs or FreshConnect for commissioner & collaborator to discuss in-context within a Scenario or App. Comments could have the same linking capability as Notes too, for pointing at what you're talking about:
I wouldn't do premium templates at all, as that discourages the growth of templates and then there would be a land-grab for templates as-if they were domains or handles since many only make sense to do once and there would be confusion in too many choices for the same thing, feedbacks to manage, people trying to game the system.
Templates and Apps should all remain open and free as an incentive to make the perfect example of each through collaboration.
Your Connections, Templates and Apps are your greatest advertisement - prices would just slow down their growth and evolution. Think more about the social-app side of things!
You'll grow in quantity and quality when the incentives are to create more with the same great ethos of the ones you already have - they should all remain open-source as the primary income model is usage of the Integromat platform itself, and the more usable quality and included connections and templates the more platform usage.
Your pricing model is perfect - don't change that - it is already a great strength - just build on Integromat for integrating APIs to integrating great people!
Templates & Apps can be free adverts for both the Integromat platform and the Integromat Geniuses - the more the merrier!
I would just keep it to the customising parts of the service because templates should be generic and common starters to keep that part of the ecosystem clean and of high-quality for the great inspiration they provide.
Just add an ability to tag templates with Integrator names that created them, and those that will offer custom integrations services for that template and link to their Upwork or Gumroad profile for their quoting along with perhaps an integration to their Calendar for showing their availability to work.
Make this all about integration and not about secondary business - the primary business is solid, it is Integromat as a social network as well as an App network.
It saves you from re-inventing the wheel, getting side-tracked by gigs, conflict, compliance, payments management, accounting and security management - just play to what you already do which is growing the Connections, Templates and Apps - for which there's a greater incentive for Geniuses to build on then as advertising for their services.
Plus there's risk to manage with credentials management, which Upwork or similar it much better experienced to police - just integrate with them:
I wouldn't even seek a cut of the transaction for the custom integration gig itself because that's just something people will work around and would encourage risky behaviour like people sharing whole organisation access and using Paypal or whatever - better to be a qualified introducer service for integrators - and maybe design a course and tests for them to become certified Integromat Geniuses.
Honestly, I think you can keep this very, very simple, stay away from the negotiation, contracting, risk-management and financial transactions part of the Gig economy and just position yourself as a social network for app integrations and you'll get unlimited free advertising and a community that will protect, support and promote you all for the great benefits your platform gives the in return.
Hope that helps and feel free to ping me if I can help in any way!
