Dear customers, we see quite high interest in the Moodle app, yet we do not see matching usage of the available Add-on App: https://www.make.com/en/integrations/moodle. We would love to understand the reasons. Please, let us know in the comments what do you need the Moodle app for and what is the reason you decided to not use it or tried and stopped using it or whether you tried but failed to make it work. Such feedback is really valuable for us as we aim to provide you with the apps you need the way they have value for you.

Jan Knettig: There are many more options when you directly address Moodle's API via an HTTP request. Also, I don't want to take out an additional subscription to MakeMarket just because I need a app.

Jan Knettig:
I have managed to connect to Moodle using HTTP requests and it's working without a problem - but the process was not so user friendly and maybe there are some make.com users that will have difficulty doing the same - this is why there is a request for make.com to develop a module for this widespread LMS.
While I appreciate the suggestion to pay for someone else for a module - acquiring a module from an external source does not align with my vision of a truly integrated and seamless solution provided by Make.com.
I don't want to pay extra for it and I don't want any 3rd party partner to have access to my make account.
Please do consider developing a native app for moodle.
Regards,
Ram

Stefanie Kennes and Ram Freedman: thank you both for your answers. I understand you are technically skilled to connect with Moodle using HTTP requests and as such I understand paying extra for something you can do yourself doesn’t make much sense to you. Thank you for your insights.
Are there any customers here who need Moodle app, haven’t found a workaround yet, yet are hesitant to use or unsuccessful using the available Add-on app? If yes, what are your reasons, please?

Jan Knettig: I tried to connect Moodle to a CRM using the external makemarket.io module but I couldn't connect it.
I wrote several emails and got no response to my problem.
In the end I looked for another management system and decided not to pay another subscription.
It would be great if Make.com developed the Moodle module and not an extra payment for another subscription.
Jan Knettig
José Miguel Rodríguez: Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Did you write emails to Make or to Makemarket.io?
José Miguel Rodríguez
Jan Knettig: To Makemarket.io
Jan Knettig
José Miguel Rodríguez: Sorry about your experience. I escalated this with the makemarket.io.

José Miguel Rodríguez: We have checked and have not received any mails from you. Can you tell us which email address you sent it to?
Were you able to make the connection? If not please let me know and I will help you.
We apologize for this inconvenience!

Jan Knettig: Hi Jan, I have been working with Moodle for 5 years, and I just realized that I need this integration to work with Coda.io. Previously, we had it connected to our own CRM, so technically, we solved the integration. When trying to use the Moodle app on Make.com, I didn't have a good user experience. The MakeMarket page didn't inspire confidence, and I was about to give up. However, the need for this integration is so strong that I'm here. I'm not motivated to pay $5 per month for an additional service. Now I understand that MakeMarket is secure because I see it here; otherwise, I wouldn't have trusted it. I will try to do it using HTTP first, and if I can't, maybe I'll consider the MakeMarket solution.
I believe that the majority of people who click on the Moodle addon ultimately don't use it because the provider's website and brand do not inspire confidence. Moreover, you indicate that you are not responsible for any issues that may arise with the third party, which further reduces trust.

Jan Knettig The website doesn't work, I created an account on makemarket.io but for some reason it gets stuck on the Account page once you login, and if open a new tab and attempt to click "install the app" nothing happens.
Jan Knettig
Aran Liu thank you and sorry about that. Will address it with the provider of makemarket.io. Cc Tiberiu S

Jan Knettig:
I would like to request that the feature be completed internally by Make.com rather than being redirected to purchase an app developed by a third party.
While I appreciate the suggestion, acquiring a module from an external source does not align with my vision of a truly integrated and seamless solution provided by Make.com.
I believe a genuine completion of this feature would involve its development and integration directly within the Make.com platform. Thank you for considering our request.
Jan Knettig
Ram Freedman: Thank you for your response, Ram. While I understand your point of view, Moodle is not currently on our roadmap as our team is putting its focus on different category of apps.
Therefore, we suggest everyone who is truly interested in integrating Moodle to check out the app offered by Makemarket.io. The company behind the portal is MakeItFuture. They are our partner so we are confident using their app will be as seamless as using a native app provided by us.
They offer a free tier which may be enough for many people and then a very generous tier at a low price.

Jan Knettig:
While I have managed to connect to Moodle using HTTP requests, I would like to emphasize that in my opinion the status of the feature request should be marked as "Not Immediately Planned" rather than "Completed."
This distinction would better reflect that while it may not be on the roadmap at the moment, it remains a valuable suggestion for future consideration.
In the meantime, for those who are eager to integrate Moodle, exploring the app offered by Makemarket.io, developed by MakeItFuture, could be a viable option and you can suggest it as a temporary solution until this feature request will be reconsidered by make.com staff.
What do you think?

Ram Freedman: Thank you for your comments. We have decided to increase clarity on the status and added a "Available as an Add-on" status. This clearly states there is a solution available as an add-on and at the same time it leaves it open for our future consideration for being developed as a built-in Make app. That is something that actually happens if the interest of customers is very high - e.g. Midjourney app was developed by MakeItFuture and is available as an Add-on but we will be soon releasing a built-in Midjourney app developed by us.
Ram Freedman
Jan Knettig: Superb, now It's clear that this is not something that was developed by make and that you will consider developing this in the future if we continue to vote for it.
Thanks.

Tereza Klobouckova: Moodle is an opensource. Were you in contant with someone at moodle.com ?
Ram Freedman
Tereza Klobouckova: Please note that there are 2 versions of moodle - the commercial one at moodle.com and the self hosted open source at moodle.org we are looking for an easy way to connect to our self hosted moodle via make without the need to create HTTP requests.
