Apps Platform: possibility to extend/customize existing Apps
Joscha Götzer
I would like to see the ability to customize an existing, prebuilt App to add new features that the app is currently missing.
I'm not sure if the prebuilt Apps are proprietary on purpose, or if their implementations could be opened up to the community for suggesting edits according to the open source process. In this way, I could just clone an existing app to make it my own and customize its behavior and functionality.
I can see that you have already open-sourced 3 apps, but in order to modify e.g. the Spotify app to hand me a list of my own playlists, I don't see another way than to start from scratch and maintain both the official, and my own app in scenarios.

BESTPRACTICE:
Use the Make an API Call module, if is available in the app, which is supposed to fill the gap of missing modules/features in the app.

Duplicate Actions, Custom Apps, etc.

It would be fantastic if you could easily copy things like Actions and even Custom Apps. However, some advanced editing would be necessary because, at the moment, certain properties are hidden after these entities are first created.

I just discovered a way to ‘duplicate’ an Action when you’re making a new one! I get how the app works, but I think it would be easier if it was at the Action overview level, right where you can delete it.

Now I think that one approach is to publish the app exported to GitHub or some other tool to share this knowledge and allow others to improve the app module
But It will be better to create a flow that allow the community improve the apps in a more collaborative way with a process of approve or not the change made in the app
